The Bourées from Bach’s Cello Suite No.3 in C Major, BWV 1009 are rustic and full of character. In the first Bourée, I’ll share my approach to phrasing with some question and answer sub phrases, and how to distinguish the two voices. The second Bourée, in minor, is more linear and requires a different color while longer bows help create the longer lines. The two dances are united by a common phrase ending which should always be playful and light. (“Bounce! Bounce! Bounce!”)
